Amazing;  I don't remember ever seeing a baby hummingbird, let alone managing to photograph one.

Thanks Gillie! Actually, if you ever see them perch for a long time then they might be baby hummer. That's how I discover this fella last Sunday afternoon and observe the  feeding ritual. At first, I had thought it's a female being courted but after spending the last 2 afternoon shooting them I now know it's a baby hummer (there are 2 babies that would fight now and then for the Mom's attention).

Beautiful and sweet. The colors of the feathers are incredible.

I would like to add that I was shooting with one focus point to the head of the baby with closed down f-stop but that did not pan out since the DOF was too shallow most of the time and the mother was always soft or out of focus. This one was shot with all the focus point aiming at the baby and when the mother comes in (1/6 of a second at most) the camera adjust the focus and ... voila ... (long live Canon 1D Mark III auto focus) :-)
