JeffBryce 0 Posted March 20, 2013 I'm a sucker for waterfalls. I hate to see a building & blown sky (I'd have tried a grad). I love the mini falls in the lower left. This looks like a beautiful place. My suggestion would be to eliminate all the clutter and concentrate on the falls & green. I have not been to this place; is it possible to isolate the falls from a different angle? And perhaps include a foreground element? Link to comment
gregf 0 Posted March 21, 2013 I hate the sky too, but one of the problems when shooting in Hawaii is that there are certain place that never get a blue sky...this is one of those places, not far frpm Hilo, the raniest city in the US.Also this was taken on E6 and scanned, much more difficult to modify as a relatively low-res JPG. There is a lot that I see that I would spruce up if this were RAW, for one thing it would have a significantly wider DR which would help improve the overall look to the photo. Link to comment

JamieK 1 Posted May 3, 2013 pretty punchy. do you remember if there is there any detail in the slide itself? best, jamie Link to comment
gregf 0 Posted May 3, 2013 Yes Jamie, there is lots of detail and color in the slide. Unfortunately it did not come out in the scan. I scanned it in 2002 with an older scanner; I certainly did not think at the time how well it could be digitally reproduced. Link to comment
