An extremely powerful image, product of all of the elements in photography needed to produce such a compelling result. Worthy of a book cover specializing in portrait photography.

Not much can be added to a truly great photograph. Congratulations.

This really is powerful and effective. I might wish the hand were a little less prominent, but the eyes are just extraordinary.

Your detail captured is amazing! I can't help but wonder about these individuals. Has he slipped through the cracks?? or is it just Personal Preference, I never will know, but your capture certainly draws attention. Very nice work.

When I look at this picture I am reminded of the work of Dorthea Lange, who took such magnificent images of human misery and coping skills during the Great Depression of the 30s.  Preserve your images well.  You may become the documenter of the current Depression.

You have captured the look of humanity peering out of difficulty and despair. Those eyes are penetrating, yet speaking softly of the individual's human condition.  When I say this is well done, I sincerely mean it. I am certainly adding it to my list of favorites.

My warmest admiration and regards,

Jerry Matchett

P.S. Of course their is an old photo joke to release the tension of such an image. When you show people this picture, people can be told that he was begging for a few pennies for food.  You can relate how pitiful he was and how moved you were.  When the viewers of the picture ask what you gave him, you reply "1/60th of a second @ f/5.6.
