Giraffe Tongue

How DID you get him to POSE like this!!?? ;-) Or, should I say, :-p

This giraffe gave me some interestings poses. This one made me laugh!

If you get a chance to shoot something like this again, try a second shot with fill flash and see which one you like better. The idea is to put a highlight in the eyes without overpowering the ambient light.

Carl, the only problem was I was at least 15-17 feet away from him (he was behind a fence and SOOO tall!). I don't know that fill flash would have worked at that distance. I used spot metering to try and get the lighting right.

You were lucky to have that overcast sky. Wonderful photograph. You might be surprised how far a flash can travel. Regards.

Two minutes later and it was raining. Timing was pretty good!

tounge is ok, but, the standing ears and the ridge on it's head made me laugh :))

Sometimes we take a special "one in a million" photo, when i saw this one, i thought of that. Colors ,expression, all works well. I am still waiting for that special photo to take :)
