One afternoon late in August of 2012, we visited a nearby Town,

Lindsay, ON that has a great display of old trains. They are in a state

of disrepair, or probably more accurate, not been serviced or painted

etc. since they were taken 'out of service'. There were so many

fascinating parts of the trains to discover. This composition is

entered in Digital Alterations as I added a few layers. (any visits or

comments are truly appreciated, most sincerely, Gail)

Well.....I guess "Spring" is in the air : - )

I love those rich colours and flaking rusting tangible textures , makes me want to start peeling it off with my finger nails, its that type of rust that leaves marks on your hands when you touch it.

Quality collection of curling corrosion!

Compliments!

Thankyou Alf, I know how you feel. I've done a bit of 'rust peeling' myself over the years. Sure didn't like to have to clean up my mess though! man thanks for your visit and prose.

Warmest thoughts for Spring, Gail

Gail.........Funny how certain sights or sounds can touch a memory. This reminds me of old bicycle seat of mine that would just about bounce you off the bike on a rough trail. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Bob.

A very powerful image, captivating and a true attention-grabber. Striking use of color, very nicely chosen to accentuate the drama and texture. Your work has such a unique personality! Congratulations.

Hi Gail,

I really like this picture of this old and worn out details. Somehow the aging process is always interesting to study (of humans as well as of industrial parts). You captured the mood very well. Best regards Per.

A powerful and passionate red! I like photographing rust whenever I see it but that has not happened recently. There is a delson Train museum close to where I live but I think most of their exhibits are rust-free. I will just have to keep an eye open for my next opportunity. Well done!

thankyou Tony for sharing those thoughts with me. I  hope you find an opportunity to photograph some rust at your train museum, but I agree, I bet the trains are well taken care of.

Tamara, you could see it! This was a very 'rusty' old piece of a train, but I also added a texture that brought it out more. Well done my friend.

I agree, most things during their life cycle have interesting aspects. I find I enjoy seeing images of older people. Especially old, wise, yet kind faces.
