I'm not sure I will follow you despite the kind invitation !

Nice scene, filled with threatening vegetation. The bend at the end of the road and the unseen beyond, are a worrying omen for what follows.

Well seen and as usual perfectly shot.

The thick moss cover on the trees gives this shot a fairy-tale-like atmosphere, Stephen. You do not find anything like this here. A magical place, not spooky, at least to me. The road vanishing into the forest is inviting, indeed. Best regards. Peter

I associate the play, 'Into the Woods' with this image. It presents a quite eerie atmosphere but enchanting at the same time. Beautifully done and the portion of the road makes me get into the image.

Anders, Bela, Radu, Peter, and Lester, thanks for your comments.  This is a part of the Olympic rainforest I hadn't previously visited, and I thought it was beautiful.  No deciduous leaves are out yet, so the moss-covered branches were uninterrupted.

Those trees look magical, its the type of scene that wouldn't look out of place, in enchanted forests of classics like "The Lord of The Rings" that seem to beckon the weary traveller deeper

The bare branches really do allow a better appreciation of the their moss covered forms.

Beautfully done!

Best Regards

Evgeni and Alf, thanks for your comments.  March and April have been wonderful months for finding these trees.  But now they are blooming and leafing out, and I am in the desert -- so far removed.

Before they leaf out, the moss-draped trees of the Olympic Rainforest in

Washington State reveal an incredible variety of shapes. This is in the

Queets area, south of the more well-known Hoh Rainforest, both of which

are on the Olympic Peninsula. This was my first visit to the Queets. Your

comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
