Please view large (this is a 2-photo stitch). Another beautiful mess in an

old-growth forest, seen more clearly in these winter months. Your

comments and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I appreciate this kinda image more then a brilliant sharp Himalayan Mountain range photography. You haw to go there and click the camera and have a popular impressive image to brag with it. But, go to you backyard and come back with a good image is a different things. This image with all those visual cacophony, photographed and processed very nicely, more to me then the Himalayas. Nicely done, Stephen.

Cheers.

I was at this place 4 years ago at this time of year and have similar shots.  The moss and creepy trees are wonderful to see live.  But the colors weren't as pervasive and lush as I had expected.  I suspect that I was a month or so early?

Bela and Jeff, thanks for your comments.  Jeff, I can't explain the color differences, except they are going to be affected by the amount of moisture the area has received.  I came back to this same spot a week later and that log on the gravel bar had been washed away; I was quite surprised at that.

The contrasting colours and fine filigree branches make this a very attractive scene to view, there is something very abstract about it that I like.  I wasn't sure about the presence of that log at first, but after some consideration, it does contrive to draw the viewers eyes to the small stream, which isn't an obvious feature when first viewed.

Compliments & Best Regards

Alf
