Love the fog and composition.  The disappearing wheels are very interesting to look at and move you through the image.

Great Subject, I love the diminishing visibilty, the frosty hard ground and the overall composition.  It conveys a steely hard coldness that is almost tangible.

Very well done!

Best Regards

Alf, thanks for your comment.  During the three years that I lived in this agricultural community, these irrigation wheels intrigued me greatly.  This may be one of my better shots because it more adequately fills the frame, and the fog was very cooperative.

Chris, I missed your comment -- thought it was my own introduction (which I often provide).  I agree with you about this composition taking the viewer through the image (varying clarity, repeating shapes, and a linear component), and that's a significant reason behind wanting to take the photo.

Shawn, I envy you.  I spent three years trying to sell my house in Walla Walla.  I simply did not enjoy being surrounded by little more than wheat fields, although the town itself was wonderful and I much preferred eastern Washington weather compared to that of Puget Sound.  I'm now living in my camper, enjoying the sights, and sometimes wondering how long I'll keep this up.  Right now, moving back to Olympia is my first choice.

For all of the aforementioned reasons, I love this!  The fog certainly makes this a knock-out image!  Hey, my husband and I are going to live in our RV for awhile when I retire.  I'm taking a Leave of Absence next year, and so we're going to get our feet wet with the idea then.  When you're just out and about, you can really capitalize on shots like this.....you just see so much more that way.  I envy you!!!!  I suppose at some point it gets old though, so we'll just live that way until we get tired of it.  :-)

Please try to ignore the jpeg artifacts originating in the upload. I spent 3

years in agricultural country trying to get a good (i.e., aesthetically

pleasing, representative, interesting) photo of irrigation wheels); this may

be my favorite. Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Nicely captured. Wonderful abstart and graphic feel to this. Nice use of the fog. The high white B&W works very well. Maybe a slight cropping in on the left would be helpful, but that is a minor and personal choice. Well done!

Stephen,  I can't count the number of times I've driven by fields with irrigation wheels and not thought anything of them.  I certainly did not perceive them as photographic subjects.  You have taught me a lesson, my friend.  The mood, perspective and diminishing wheels in the fog create a most artistic image.  Also, the B&W is perfect here.  You have an excellent eye here.  Wonderful.  Larry
