The pitifully restricted representation of living things amid the asphalt and

concrete of a downtown street made me want to make the photograph. I

didn't have time to get a faster shutter speed, but the implied motion of the

crow has grown on me and I don't mind the blur. Your comments and

suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Good eyes, fast reflection to shoot. I like the image, very symbolical in all detail. The only comment I my have, to increase the contrast to highlight the lonely tree in a concrete and asphalt jungle.

Cheers.

Hi  Stephen,  You idea of capturing this image is a reminder of how downtown city street are devoid of plant life and animal life. Like your composition with the tree and of course the bird walking down the sidewalk gives the perfect touch to this scene, Like the lines and the soft earth tones.  Great Capture and wonderful idea.  Best regards,  Sherry

Pierre, Timothy, Bela, and Sherry, thanks for your comments.  During this walk I had only one person come running up to tell me I can't be doing this (photographing).  I could increase the contrast easily in a B&W version, but I like that faint hint of a green square at the base of the tree.  I really was the horizontal lines contrasting with the irregular lines of the tree that caught my eye; the crow was an accidental and delightful addition.
