You have a wonderful scene and image here. Being based in Quebec where the grounds are still completely snow covered, I looked at this image and wondered if it was snow because the land appears to be quite white. It really comes down to personal preference, but would you consider making the boat and land less contrasty? Just a question.

Thank you both for your comments.  I do have versions of this picture in both color and  b/w, but I was trying for something a little more unconventional and this effect pleased me on the day :/   I do thank you for the suggestion and will go back to the drawing board and bear your remarks in mind.  Gillie

Hi Gail;  I see what you mean!  Dungeness , Kent in the UK, is a photographers dream, if you like decaying textures and stark scenes.
