Laurent,

I think this is a "Downey" but no expert here!

I do know that I've tried to get a shot of these fast little beggars in the field, . . . they just don't stay still long enough!

Nice distinct details!

Regards always,

Jim j.

Thank you for viewing and for the observation.I am not a bird person;I just feed them and in doing so,I have attracted a good many and varied bunch plus the regular visit of our local bird watchers club whom have briefed me on ID of species. As I live in a wooded area, word got around on the always full feeders and suet boxes like here and I got invaded by squirrels pushing me to curb the feeding and loosing a lot of colorful bird visit. But I have these faithful woodpeckers, both the Downy's and the Hairy's,Mineur and Chevelu as they are known here. This one is the bigger Hairy;difficult to say here because of it's wrapped posture, but the long beak is the giveaway. The half dozen or so regulars are very approachable and this shot is from 5 feet away.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
