The sand & slush laden water creates a silkylike texture to the waves

as they breakup on the beach.I would appreciate your comment on

this.Thank you-Laurent

Interesting take on the waves Laurent. The slush and ice seem to break up the curl. Living on the west coast we seldom see the ice and water combination. Good capture. Regards,  Bob.

Thank you for viewing and for the kind appreciation. The real drama here is that the break up of the ice now exposes the beach and in this case where the road is at beachside, the heavy waves eat away at it even if protected by heavy rip-rap.Over the last few years this unique road to the lighthouse at the tip of the Island had to be rebuilt more than once.

Thank you for the kind observation. The mixture in the brownish strip close to shore has the consistancy of what you see in these slush machines at the corner store. Here,it is also loaded with all that broken ice making it very heavy and giving the waves a sort of slow motion type of action.

Thank you so much for your always kind and welcomed comment.I did not take many shots on this outing as I was shooting against the wind and the mixture of snow and rain was covering my lense with every shot.

Boy, you really did catch the feeling of the winter coastline. Love the color of the sea and the contrast of the crashing waves. The rocks at the bottom frame the picture nicely. Like that blank sky, too.

Thank you kindly for appreciating.I had to work at the sky as it was pretty blotchy from the rain and wet snow being projected into the lense by the direct headwind .If the wind had been the opposite direction,I would have stayed around longer and I am pretty sure I could have seized some more spectacular waves.

hi Laurent-Glad I opened this image & even more pleased when I opened the large size, a much more visually pleasing image, very realistic.I almost feel as if I am standing on the shoreline watching the waves braking on the rocks I have always felt the larger the image the more realistic the image.Very nice image, great detail.Very Best Regards-Ross

Always good to hear from you. Here ,the water was really slushy from the breakup of the ice hitting the rip-rap protecting the shore road;this made for an almost slow-motion wave action. Now ,I wish I would have stayed longer for more shots but the cold wind was right in my face and the mist was glazing the lense forcing me to hide the camera and time my shot to get the breaking wave.PP was very useful to get rid of the water spots in the sky area.Thank you for the visit and your always appreciated commenting.

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent

PS-In browsing your folio the other day,I realized that the old Plymouth had gone from courting that old barn.Pity.I will get back to you on this.

Hi Laurent_Can imagine it would be no picnic on a cold winter day on the East Coast with a strong wind & mist blowing in from offshore. The conditions we put up with to get a good image,EH! We know when Lake Ontario is cold by the clouds of mist rising from the lake, like to go early when the south sky is still darkish. The old Plymouth is gone along with two other old cars.An old hay rake is all that is left.It is disappointing to see these old vehicles disappear.Hope to revisit the site in late July or August for my annual visit.Hopefully the old barn is still standing. Catch you later.Very Best Wishes _Ross
