yanzhang 1 Posted March 3, 2013 After sunset, dramatic cloud sea appeared in this valley of Mount Huangshan. This image was a result of stitching six successive shots using my telephoto lens at 70mm focal length, so that I could present such scene at this viewpoint with great details. Link to comment
philrichardson 6 Posted March 3, 2013 Such a majestic scene Yan! Love the prominent peak in the foreground and the detail in the floating clouds behind. The three layers of peaks working up the mountain behind the prominent one add tremendously to the effect. Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted March 3, 2013 Love the clouds, but it looks quite tilted to the right. Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted March 3, 2013 Beautiful motiv. Dramatic and poetic at the same time. I like the square format of the image. But it's all grey. I miss something real black.Tommy Link to comment
yanzhang 1 Posted March 3, 2013 Jim,Thanks for your comment.Yes, the mountains on the right are very tilted in reality. With using 70-200mm telephoto lens and shooting vertical, I was able to keep the scene in my frame as it was.Regards,Yan Link to comment
daverave 1 Posted March 4, 2013 I agree with everything Tommy said including the need for some additional contrast and some blacks. Link to comment
