alfbailey 1 Posted February 27, 2013 Wow! A mesmerising and wonderfully composed image! You seem to have nailed the shutter speed to allow a perception of movement in the water, and great sharpness in the solitary figure. Maybe you combined two or more images to achieve this, but for me its the result that matters and this is a compelling image by any standard. Great B & W tones too.Excellent work Hamid 7 Best Regards Alf Link to comment
hamidfarzandian 0 Posted February 28, 2013 Thank you dear Alf for positive feedback and generous rate. Yes, as usual in my images, i combined and "stacked" many shots to end up a sharp, balanced and focused shot. You definitely are familiar with the processes of focus stack ( in which multiple shots with different focuses are combined to result a wider depth of field, used mostly in supermacro and also landscape shots ), and exposure blending manipulation ( using multiple shots to result a balanced shot with respect to light and exposure, which you are a master in it ). I use a third category in my shots which are less well known, which i call it "speed blending" ( may also be called something like movement blending, or time blending). In this third category i shoot first set of shots for a conventional landscape ( i mean using lower shutter speed, low iso, tight aperture and also using a tripod ), and second set of shots with higher iso, open aperture and handheld or tripod-held. I combine these two sets resulting a shot like this, a moving element, and a sharp background. Wish this brief description be helpful. Thank you again for your interest and kind response. My best wishes,Hamid. Link to comment

marc_dilley1 0 Posted March 1, 2013 I keep my eye peeled for foamy whirlpools like this one all year 'round. It is maddeningly difficult to find a really good one, and after years of looking, I have never found one anywhere nearly as nice as Hamid's. And of course one must then have the talent to make good use of it. I can't imagine how this scene could be improved upon. It is exciting, inventive and has great depth. Bravo!! Link to comment
