Gregory,

I agree with the other reviewer who stated that too much processing is evident. What it appears you have done is add a gradient in Camera Raw, move the color temperature slider waay to the blue, move the exposure to the left (darken) and pull the gradient down until it effected the top of the peaks. If you desire to darken the sky, you would have more precise control in Photoshop by using the Selective Color tool, choose blue, and darken the color. You could also choose the tool again, change the mask to black, paint the lake white on the mask, and fiddle with the blue and cyan colors to make the lake color and luminosity agree with the sky... if you wanted.

What I see is possible overuse of a polarizing filter; those effects are magnified at higher elevations.  But then, the clouds aren't white, so I suspect that extra processing also accounts for the black sky.  When processing stands out in what appears to be posted as a natural scenic landscape, then it has gone too far, IMO.

I agree with the general comments on over processing. This has the potential to be a really wonderful shot but you have lost much of the pristine and clean color that I think is there in the mountain caps and darkened sky. I think the reflection with its softness really works (and you can feel the white of the caps in the reflection)I think the basic composition is well framed to hold the viewer in the shot.

The over-blue sky is unappealing to me and it doesn't match the softer reflection in the water.  Overall the colors seem pushed and the processing could be improved.  Stephen mentioned that perhaps some of the over-blue in the sky could've been due to the overuse of a polarizer; but I don't think so because heavy polarization would've darkened the water too, may have cut some of the glare, and perhaps produced banding in the sky and/or water.  I don't see evidence of any of this.  Solid NDs can sometimes cause excess blue and odd colors like what we see here, especially if the NDs are 4+ stops, stacked, or of lower quality.

Overall is beautiful picture but just the sky doesn't look natural....It is my honest opinion !! Best regards.....
