Melbourne zoo's recent addition to its Asian elephant family group, this young

male calf will help ensure the survival of the sub-species which is currently

endangered due to poaching and habitat loss as a direct result of palm oil

plantations. Please read food labels and demand governments accurately label

food products.

Hello ArtX

This is a wunderful photo. Is the light the natural light or do you use any flash. It is an excellent shot.

Best regards

Wonderful capture Art. It almost looks as if this little one is trying to push his way out from under or between!!! I like the positioning of the parent's foot on the right. Certainly gives a great sense of the difference in size. I wonder how long it is till a young one reaches MATURITY. Your images, always with 'lovely light' and 'compassionate feel'. Thankyou once again for the reminder about Palm Oil, I think so many are not aware, and we are the ones that have to spread the news.

Sincere regards, gail

Thank you very much everyone. your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Bela, thanks for your question. All my images are achieved through natural light. I don't have the luxury to use flash in these environments

Ah! this is a wonderful shot. Great light, great camera position, the protective lift of the mums feet to avoid the baby from straying even the little puff of sand from her feet, the textures of their skins, so much detail Great composition Art.
