charles_brennan 0 Posted March 5, 2013 Richard, beautiful shot, very peaceful. The texture on the fence is fantastic. I think the composition is almost perfect. Not much to critique here but I'll be really picky. My eye keeps getting drawn to the cut off top of the front post. I'm guessing maybe there was something in the background that you didn't want in the shot? I'd still hang this on my wall. Nice work. Link to comment

john_caines 0 Posted March 7, 2013 "I'm guessing maybe there was something in the background that you didn't want in the shot?" - The fence seems to be cut and I would prefer to see the top of the fence. Nice shot by the way. Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi Richard, You do so well with simplicity. I think I'd prefer to see the fence lower in the image with space over it. Then I think you'd bring the shadows up closer too. Best to you till next time. Wait a little while; the snow will melt. Larry Link to comment
rekaras 0 Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks to all commenters. Yes there was something I wanted to exclude above the fence, a road and traffic and homes. I intentionally placed the fence in the upper right so the detail in the snow in the foreground would enter into the image. I also thought the fence positioning was awkward enough to focus an unusual attention to the overall composition. I agree I would also prefer the top of the post werre more visible and not so abruptly cut off. Again thanks for all your comments, suggestions and time. Best wishes to you all. Link to comment
