leo burkey 0 Posted February 22, 2013 As I was packing up my 4x5 field camera this cloud moved into the scene and I quickly setup again and managed two exposure before the dissipating cloud and darkness ended my day. Link to comment
kuba_cachro 0 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi, I'm truly impressed by the mysterious quality of light in this picture. Could you tell me more about it? Is the sun positioned low to the right side of the frame, and was it filtered through the clouds or shining directly? The cloud formation in the sky might be a little more evocative, but still it is a view to admire. And the texture of the sand in the foreground is marvelous! It is also nice to know that people still practice larger format photography. It really shows in the results! I never had the perseverance to do so :/ Anyway, way to go! Best regards Link to comment

leo burkey 0 Posted February 23, 2013 The sun was off to the right and dropping below the horizon, I obtained extra contrast by using N+! development on Tri-X 400 film. Thanks for your encouraging words. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted February 23, 2013 I really like what you've done in the center of the image to present a contemplative abstraction. It takes some time, but you finally settle on the distant cloud and mirrored shape of the dune. Aren't clouds a challenge with large format? You have to celebrate every time you capture a fine one like this. Link to comment

krpradu 125 Posted February 24, 2013 Is not only the subject it self that is attractive with this dunes but contrast light shadow is so good here,so I like a lot this light cloud that comes with a plus to this composition, compliments. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted February 24, 2013 This is simply beautiful. The strong contrast of light and dark in the sand as well as the patterns in the foreground are especially appealing, and the cloud is an accent mark for the entire scene. Excellent work. Link to comment
