This is an image taken this summer of my Grandaughter Shaelyn

holding my Abbey. She had been sitting under our Gazebo trying to

keep out of the hot sun. Abbey seemed to be engrossed with the toy

that Shaelyn's brother Kael was playing with. I decided to place this

image behind a capture of an old window with lace curtains. I was

trying to get a Vintage type of look to the composition. I will post a

smaller version of the original for you to compare with. (any visits

and comments are always appreciated, many thanks, Gail)

Gail, I think both images are very well done. The original one is a beautiful portrait shot with gorgeous colour and amazing detail. The second one shows your gift for creativity which seems to grow daily. You should be very pleased with both works. Congrats!

Hi Gail,

My first impression was that this was a scanned film image from the past.

A beautiful composition.

Technically well shot at 43mm F/5.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Gail,

Many thanks for your recent visit to some of my recently posted work!

Now having limited internet access, well, . . . my apologies for taking so long to get a chance to view some of your more recent work!

I think the very appropriate "memories" caption combined with your always excellent creativity and processing skills caught my eye! As it always does!

Very well done!

This would make a wonderful canvas print in my opinion! . . . Amazing work!

Regards always,

Jim j.

You have taken an ordinary image and converted it into a treasure Gail!! You are really a master at this style. Thanks for the inspirations, although I don't have the talent to follow you!

What is remarkable about this for me is the appearance of the tiara that appears on her head, wether it was purposely done or not, it gives  me the impression that she is like a princess, or ballerina looking out over her secret garden and wishing she was out there playing.  Great transformation from the orginal and a thoroughly captivating take on this lovely girl.

Very well done Gail

Warm Regards

Alf

I agree with Alf's assessment, and especially the appearance of a tiara or crown. She looks like a ballerina in your creation, highlighting a high forehead, a nice profile, beautiful vignetting and the sentimental "old world" lace.  I wonder if the somber cross is intentional?

My sincere thanks Tina for your visit and input. I value what you think. You share my love of Feminine things, flowers etc. I am happy to hear you enjoyed this one.

Actually to tell you the truth, I did not think of the frame as a Cross, and I was worried how much the lace might distort her face. I had probably worked on it a bit too long. Now in retrospect and hearing others comments, I see what I did not see before. Yet the last few days I have had thoughts of my 'Faith' on my mind, not struggling, just how I can improve that part of my life. Shaelyn has the sweet Faith of a young girl. I am very fortunate to have her in my life.

As always your words are very inspiring and encouraging. The 'tiara' was not intentional, it is from the lace of the curtains, and while processing I had to be very careful where to place her and my Abbey within the window frame due to the lace. While working on it, I worried that what you see on her head would be a problem, but then thought, this is what you would see if you could see a person behind the curtains. I see this image in a whole new light Alf. You very sincere comments are much appreciated Alf.

Thankyou for those lovely words, no the 'sombre cross' was not intentional but it suits Shaelyn very much. Funny, things that have been on my mind, I imagine influenced how I edited this one. Sincere thanks for your visit Donna, talks soon, Gail
