One beautiful Spring afternoon last May I eagerly made my way to a

nearby Garden Centre that is among my favorites. There usually are

a few new species/varieties of flowers that are pleasant surprises. I

was not there long before I discovered this lovely Clematis. It was

enchanting. I couldn't help but come back to it time and time again. I

did not manage to find the name of it on that visit, and the next time I

went back they were all sold out. I hope to add it to my early

plantings this year. I did not find out the name of this one on that visit

but I am sure they will have it again this year. (any visits and

comments are always welcomed, best always, Gail)

A very lovely image indeed  - the purple color against that beautiful pastel green background is very pleasing to the eye. Can one visualize a couple holding hands late in the evening and walking through a fantasy garden cooing like love birds. Somehow this image brings out that romance. Well done and a six from me.

Gail,

Your point of focus is perfect, the shallow dof and colourful bokeh has helped to create a lovely image.  I hope you will be able to find this variety of Clematis during the coming Spring.

Your romantic 'mood' is apprapo I think for this image. It would be nice to vaguely see a couple holding hands in the background...good thought ;-) Gail

Gail -  it's breathing, it's alive, it's multi-dimensional, it's fractured between reality and imagery - max!

Hi Gail,

Technically spot on , using the 100mm macro at F/2.8.  The details are vivid and the out of focus areas blend wonderfully in the background.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Hello Gail:

Most has been said about this most delightful image, and really nothing can be added, except my personal recognition and congratulations. I find it very hard to render the right color of dark flowers, but you did this wonderfully here. Nice and simple, elegant and refined.

Best regards.

It did take me quite awhile to post this one, worked on it many times, then suddenly the other day I went about it quite simply and it seemed to work out pretty well. My sincere thanks for your visit, it is truly appreciated.
