marc_dilley1 0 Posted February 19, 2013 My partner and I have walked past this sweet little (~4') graceful joint between two basalt columns in a dry part of Washington State, called Frenchman Coulee, for years. One day last year I finally lugged my serious camera gear up there along with the climbing stuff, and made about fifty exposures in various perspectives in the morning and another fifty or so on the return to camp. An afternoon exposure (soft light from the right) won out and is what you see here. One of the things that I really like about this image is that basaltic columnar jointing is usually vertical and parallel, not gracefully curving in this almost poetic way. Apologies for the lame title. Link to comment
daverave 1 Posted February 28, 2013 This is fine art indeed! I'm undecided as to whether the slightly out of focus top and bottom of the image is the way to go though. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted March 2, 2013 I made a comment under my image "Higher Power" that the artist tends to misread how others accept their work. I also consider this one of my more original works. I'm dumfounded that it has flopped on this forum. Again I ask, What am I doing wrong... or missing? Many thanks to you who have made the effort to comment! Link to comment
