marc_dilley1 0 Posted February 17, 2013 This is the image I would have taken instead of "In the Headlights", if I had awoke earlier and had time to set up. A few more days and another trip got me back to this spot. What had caught my eye was the relationship of a massive mountain, bright larch trees with their almost radioactive needles, and the lower right fg pools... slowly spinning cast needles in endless circles. The near-perfect sky was a thrill to capture, as well. Link to comment

marc_dilley1 0 Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks everyone. While I was working one this scene, a perhaps equally cool drama was unfolding behind me: a perfect rainbow arch with it's center over the summit of the peak above camp. The light was absolutely stunning and I wanted so much so unclick the camera and shoot a few of the 'bow. I knew that if I accidentally changed the focal length I was screwed, so I just enjoyed it. Best rainbow I ever saw. Link to comment
larrydgoss 1 Posted February 20, 2013 Remarkable image. Looks like it could almost be a painting from one of the old west masters! Link to comment
