alight 0 Posted February 11, 2013 this is a nice scene. I would suggest shooting more to your right, to put a distance between the the boat and the land on the right. Right now the bow touches the shore. I suggest having the bow, then a little bit of the water, and then the shore. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
SteveH 0 Posted February 11, 2013 In addition to above, I'd also suggest leaving a bit of space between the boat and the bottom of the frame. A little less cloud will also emphasize the line of mountains in the background. The elements are nicely proportioned. Well done with the contrast and color. Cheers, Steve Link to comment

stp 6 Posted February 13, 2013 I think this is well composed. I can see some value, perhaps, in separating the bow a bit from the distant shore, but I think it is more important to maintain the relatively close proximity of the person to the boat; moving to the right would increase that distance, to the detriment of the composition and the main elements in the photo. I don't mind the bottom of the frame cutting through the bottom of the boat; this photo is about something other than a good or complete representation of the boat. I like the light on the distant vegetation above the person; it helps me "see" the person but still keeps the attention on the person subdued, as I think it should be. Very nice work, IMO.
