Pierre,

this is a hit & run shot, I in a moving boat over which I had no control, way out on a lake; the vulture high up on that bare branch, feasting on a fish it kept down with its claws.

The photo is surely not a jewel of photographic genius. I had to brighten it in order to make the details of the vulture visible, simultaneously bleaching the wood of the dead branches.

The end result, as you see it here, yet creates a kind of desolate environment which I associate with vultures looking for carrion.

That's my defence re a photo I can't take again ;-)
