Yet another remarkable capture.......... the clarity here is amazing.

I appreciate you have a 400mm lens, but even so you still need to get incredibly close to these little finches to capture this quality........ questions:- do you use a hide, or are these aviary birds or, or, or,.

Thanks for the nice comment.  Yes, you do have to get close.  I have a feeder with black sunflower seeds hung in a nearby tree.  I just sit out in the open with my camera on a tripod and wait.  If I sit still, they don't care that I'm there.  I took this today from about 12 feet away.  This was the only good one out of 25 shots.  It was 9 degrees F here so I was only out for about 45 minutes.

There were nuthatches and female redpols out as well, but I couldn't get a good shot of one of them...maybe tomorrow.

..... for the inside info.............. it all makes sense. Yes we are having a heatwave here in Perth WA........ so I'm totaly opposed to sitting out in the sun, Smiles.....
