I don't know the name of these flowers but they were quite strinking

and attracted bees like crazy.

I am not sure what state you are in, but usually bookstores carry a pictured field guide to common wildflowers.  Once you know their name you can look up information about them.  Once you have taken hundreds of pictures as nice as this you can probably coordinate publication with a botanist who is less of a photographer.
