I like how this trails lead the eyes to horizon line, also the cabin complete this image, nice grey tones,Is the water deep under this ice?

Thank you again for the observation on this one.The fishing cabins are in general set on ice over shallow waters as fishing is done "visually" by harpoon or line,so in  shallow layer just under the ice. Here, just beyond this cabin, the water starts to be deeper as in the middle of this harbour, there is a deep channel which the boats use to exit to the open sea in summertime.

Although this image conveys an intense feeling of isolation, it is not at all loneliness.  I get an amazing sense of peace from allowing my eyes to follow the tracks in the snow from foreground to background.  The tones of the shy add to the drama.

My best,

The B/W does convey a feeling of drama which is not necessarily the case in what is basically a normal daily scene here. The area is relatively wide and looks that much more vast when one cabin is isolated for the shot as here.On a day like this, especially when the mercury is way below the zero mark, one can effectively get a feeling of loneliness by walking out on the ice,be there until the camera freezes up and not get an indication that anybody is in any of the few cabins other that there are cars in the parking area. But,it can be and is a fine place for good images.I thank you for the observation and hope I have brought some light on this, one of my favorite actual photo matter.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
