Thanks Phil! Had this for a while but did not want to post since I love the pose but in general I don't like birdshot that does not show the eye/eyes, the shooting angle (I was up high on a dike) and pose inhibit getting the eye. :-)

This is indeed a perfectly timed image.  I presume the one receiving the food is an almost grown offspring.

Compositionally here, you have an interesting contrasts of lines, with the wings exerting a strong diagonal force, but being strongly fought by the horizontal (nearly so) lines in the water.  I believe that the horizontal format gives too much strength to the horizontal lines so I am going to suggest that you let the diagonals win by cropping to a square format. (I don't usually favor the square but I think here it would work.)

Thanks Jerry! I have no problem with square format and I got your point since I ponder about those dominant horizontal lines myself. The only reason I used the rectangular cut is because I don't want to crop the shot smaller since I only want to use image expanded100%  and then cut (reduce a bit) but if I cut it square the resolution would be loosing some quality.   Wish I had my 2X serries III then, it would have resulted in a much better image since the 2X III is better than the 1.4X II (which was used for this shot)  from my observation.

Thanks V. Rosher!

Rare shot, feeding in water, + reflections. Action =full wings stretched.

Eyes r not important in this shot, cause it is overall impact of subject.
