Very nice shot!

I would crop it a little bit differently (to have the same distance between real shell and the border above it and the reflected shell and the border below it). But even now your work is very good. Greetings, Grazyna.

This image definitely deserves a special mention!  Beautifully executed, strong lines and excellent composition.  Perfect!  I will add it to my fav's folder, if you don't mind.  Would have given you full marks if it was up for rating...

Kind regards

Engela

This spiny murex shell is from the island of Saipan (in the Marianas

islands, about 100 miles from Guam) where I was born. It is less

than 6 inches long and nearly perfect, which is a rare find. I

photographed it in a light tent on a piece of glass, with a single

strobe coming from above. Hasselblad with an A16 back (6 x 4.5),

150mm f/4 Sonnar C T* with a 0,5m Proxar close up lens and Kodak

Ektar 100.

This is simply an excellent piece of photography! Ihave the same lens and I have just got an adapter for my D3. Is a very good lens.

Scott,

This is masterfully done.  I lived for two years in what was then called Truk Lagoon, visited Guam and touched down once in Saipan.  I collected sea shells but never found anything as lovely as this.

You did a first class job in lighting and the reflection makes it perfect.

Regards,

Jerry

Scott,  Beautiful presentation of this unusual shell. The black background, the reflection and the lighting gives this image it beauty.  Great capture!  Best regards,  Sherry
