John Peri 1,029 Posted January 30, 2013 a glimpse of nudity .. maybe it should be grouped among the nudes, but the portraiture is the interesting element for me here Link to comment
Elstad 8 Posted January 30, 2013 Such intense eyes made even more so by the makeup. Nice too is the way you'ver framed her breast between the rungs of the ladder. Marvelous!-r- Link to comment
MarieH 687 Posted January 30, 2013 As you already pointed out Mr Peri, wrong category. The makeup even in B&w looks clownish. Sometimes less is in fact more. Link to comment
jack_live 0 Posted January 30, 2013 This is about respect John. The reason there is a specific category for nudes is because some people are uncomfortable by nudity and some are actually offended by it. I personally see nothing wrong about this photo but for those who do i think you should place it where it belongs . Children may not want to see this after all. Thank you. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted January 30, 2013 Mr Live, I sympathize with your argument and expressed doubts about my own decision further up, thank you for pointing it out, though this has nothing to do with respect. Parents that do not wish their children to roam the net and visit the freely accessible pages on PN censor their computers, as members of my own family have done. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 5 Posted January 30, 2013 It is the eyes! Kudos to you both. Jim Phelps Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted February 2, 2013 This is a wonderful portrait. I am not a fan of eye makeup like this but this is not my photograph. This makeup does enhance the beauty of her strong eyes and, therefore, is successful. I also like the lighting and the way she is placed against the background. The choice of category on PN is always difficult with photographs like this. On the one hand she is clearly nude but, in your part of the world, it is not unusual to see exposed breasts. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted February 2, 2013 Thank you Mark, glad you liked the photo. The dark eye shadow is strongly in fashion again in Paris, alongside with high heeled stiletto shoes which had disappeared for quite a while, the model is particularly elegant and up to date in that respect, though the purpose here was just photography of course. That said, it is barely more revealing than what I see regularly in cocktail parties and even high end restaurants in major cities around the world. Off subject, but it did create amusement here. Doria Tillier gave the weather forecast a few weeks ago close up on national television, prime time, in a totally transparent blouse! Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted February 2, 2013 I corrected syntax and some words disappeared .. I said that .. " I misplaced the photo in the portrait section, but it is barely more revealing than ... etc., " Link to comment
