This orchid was one of hundreds adorning a huge holiday tree in the

landscape arboretum. They were a welcome relief from the winter cold.

Thanks for taking your time to comment. Larry

Love the soft yellows with magenta colored centers, great capture with wonderful detail. Do you raise these beautiful flowers.  Best Regards,  Sherry

Hi,  Sherry.  Thanks for your visit and comment. No, I don't raise orchids.  These were on display at the MN Landscape Arboretum.  In lieu of a Christmas tree, they had a large tree-like wire frame with hundreds of potted orchids attached. The few I have here are ones at camera level that attracted me.  Sherry, thanks for the information and images you sent about Zion.  We have no choice about the timing of this trip. Zion for a day is a filler and afterthought.  This short trip is really to see Death Valley where we will stay three nights and then visit friends in Las Vegas.  Hopefully, we'll do a real trip to Zion and Bryce at another time.  Thanks again.  Larry

Mike, you are right - this is soft.  Background-wise that's what I wanted.  On the orchid it was nearly impossible to get a tack sharp image of both the left and right flowers.  I tried combining several different focus points, but instead of helping, it made the image worse.  I settled for this one.  Larry
