Hi Landrum,

I really like the light as well as the square crop of the image. The only thing to be improved, would be the bw-process. Around the mouth the gradation between the lips is too hard and looks simply "digital". Maybe it's because of the upload-compression, but it doesn't fit the supreme equipment you use! But that's only my two cents;-)

A very expressive portrait Lannie. Moreover, there is something very sculptural about this image, bravo. 

WHAAAT! this is going into my faves. reminds me of an eastern European photo taken in circa 40s. The dimensions really work and the eyes.... those eyes!

The drama of the facial expression is enhanced significantly by the lighting and the close in crop. The viewer has the impression that something significant is about to happen on camera left.

Technically, I like what you were able to accomplish at higher ISO and with using your 100mm macro at F/4.5.

Thanks, Mike.  It was a birthday party, and I knew that the 5DII could handle ISO 3200 and thereby free me up to think about other things--and so I did.
