joaodebarros 1 Posted January 23, 2013 Hi Tasic! Is it glass fiber or just white ink?...Anyway, I like this shape and colours. Best regards. Link to comment
kazimir 5 Posted January 24, 2013 In my opinion (since I didn't come close to touch it) it is two washes of diluted white paint (as a "primer") and after this boat is finally painted.Process is like this : old paint is burned down and boat is grinded. After that, all spaces between the hull boards are caulked with helm and a putty is applied then grinded again and aforementioned two washes of white paint are applied before final painting. Plastification of wooden boats is not so popular in this part of a country (Betina, Croatia) since there is a still a lot of craftsmen and a plastification of the boats is nothing less than blasphemy.Hope I gave you a full information - if not, just ask. Will be happy to add any answer you need. All the best!!!! Link to comment
SteveH 0 Posted January 24, 2013 Maybe it's just my mood today, but I couldn't resist seeing this image in black and white. Here's my modification using Lightroom. Great image. Thanks for letting me play with it. Steve Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted January 24, 2013 Thanks for the detailed explanation Tasic. I also prefer wood and it's good to know that there are (still) people who work on (with) it!!! Best regards and enjoy the latin sails! Link to comment
