mikeoday 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Not Central Park David. I've travelled a little bit but I have never had the opportunity to travel to the US. The original image of the angel in her alcove was taken at the Cathedral at Lincoln in the UK. CheersMike Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted January 25, 2013 Nice crisp shot. I'm trying to understand what was digitally altered? Link to comment
mikeoday 0 Posted January 25, 2013 Thanks Jim. The original image had a buttress on the left that I could not crop out and still retain the composition I wanted. So I have replaced the stonework. That is, the angel in the alcove is from the original image and the rest is from an image of old and damaged paper. The second thing I did was let the new background blend through onto the angel as well to increase the texture and increase the continuity across the whole image. I also played around a little with sharpening and levels to try to find a combination that maximised the impression of depth ie. that the angel is coming out of the screen. CheersMike Link to comment
mikeoday 0 Posted January 25, 2013 Sorry David, this is not from Lincoln - I mixed up my cathedrals. It was taken at the cathedral at Arundel in the UK. Link to comment
