Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted January 20, 2013 Lucky shot on a cold rainy winter's day at Brazos Bend State Park, TX. I was almost back to my car after a walk futilely searching for alligators (burrowed down) when I walked over to look at a few egrets. I didn't have a rain cover for my NEX-7 so I hadn't gotten many shots that day, and didn't have much hope for the low contrast ones I'd taken. My iso was set low for some landscapes I'd just shot and I didn't change it so my shutter speed was "too low" for a sharp capture. I tossed most of the these shots, but this one had a pretty sharp background. B&W with boosted contrast and structure brought out the birds. My favorite shot of my X-mas trip to visit in-laws.
