wolfgangarnold 142 Posted January 19, 2013 ...ok, probably not a typical photo for me, nor one I had actively sought or planned for, but when came by this pond on an early December morning, I could not resist taking this chance. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 19, 2013 Some scenes are not to be resisted, and this is one such scene. The composition is superb; I really like the branches that completely circle the frame, with a central tree and its reflection serving as the main subject here. Great colors in the sky as well. Wonderful aesthetics. Link to comment
JeffBryce 0 Posted January 19, 2013 Nice composition and use of lines. The orange and pink reflection should likely be a tad darker. Too bad the branch at bottom center is out of focus. Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted January 19, 2013 A Tree amongst trees! You have certainly nailed this one! The composition is perfect, and the colours are just .......wow! There isn't much I can add to the former well deserved accolades, but I really admire this image! Sincere Compliments! Alf Link to comment
richard_john_edwards 0 Posted January 20, 2013 Wolfgan. This image is crisp and vivid it has great clarity. The colours are also great, as is the composition. I like how the skelital branches of the tree contrast toe hues of the sky. I would like to see the bottom cropp to remove the grass/branch in the bottom of the picture, doing this brings real focus to the thecentral tree, to me that is the focal point of the image that gives us a starting place to enjoy. Great work. Link to comment
ndj 0 Posted January 20, 2013 Wow! This is a real beauty Wolfgang! I don't think there's many of us that could resist stopping to photograph a scene like this one. By the look of things it was probably tough to find a spot along the heavily wooded shoreline to shoot from. I think you came up with an excellent composition given the amount of clutter you had from encroaching branches, and such. Brilliant work that's a pleasure to behold! All the best,Neil Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted January 21, 2013 I join all the others, it is a beauty, the color palette is outstanding, as well as the light and details of the ground, and replica in the water! Very well observed . Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted January 22, 2013 Big thanks for all your encouraging comments!@Jeff: good suggestion on the reflections and agree that out-of-focus branch is a bit distracting. Besides combining three exposures via HDR Efex 2 I didn't apply any postprocessing - so there are some details to improve still.@Richard: I didn't crop, because I wanted to have the line dividing reflection and real scene centered. Yet, it's an idea I'll consider when reworking.@Neil: You are right, it was not easy to find a spot - yet, not because the shoreline on my end was so heavily wooded: There is a terrace of a nice cafe where I stood and exactly from where I took this photo was a rather bulky lamp-thing which caused me some trouble getting the symmetry right. jeffl7 0 Posted February 9, 2013 Striking color. Bisecting the photo doesn't always work, but here it adds to the magic. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted February 9, 2013 The movement on the water adds a bit of trembling in the reflection. Lovely Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted November 2, 2013 Beautiful scene with great color and light. I like how the bare branches appear as lace against the sky. Very well done! Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
