You've used a polarizing filter on a wide-angle lens, and it really shows up in the sky that has a dark band in the center.  This doesn't bother some people, but it looks very unnatural to my eyes.  I think that leaving the filter off with post-processing in which contrast is added to the entire sky (and perhaps reduce the exposure slightly in the sky, as long as the high clouds remain white) would accomplish much of what you were after yet look much more natural.

You are right with your obsevation and although it does not bother me,I appreciate that the resulting banding especially in clear skies is distracting and others have also raised this in commenting my images.Removing the filter or letting up on the intensity would address the banding issue but I have some hesitatation as the polarizer does wonders on snow and I know that my PP skills are not up to making up for it,but I will strive to address this issue.I thank you for your valued and always pertinent comments.

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent
