The melt caused by the oddly warm temperatures of the last few days combined with the tide waters saturated this surface;the low sun gave it some sparkle.Thank you for your valuable comment.

There's potential in this image in terms of composition but I think that it could have been better with a bit less polarizer... that big black/blue hole in the sky looks very unnatural and is a major distraction.

Thank you for viewing and commenting this one.I like what the polarizer does to the ice and realize that using it with the WA lense causes this type of banding in the sky;although it does not bother me,I can apreciate it can and is obviously a distraction to the alert eye as yours. As my PP skills improve,I may be able to attenuate this.

I used to be a bit polarizer addicted myself back in the film days but l've found that backing it off a bit from it's full-on effect is a viable compromise with digital and/or you can recreate the effect in PS for the most part. It's most useful on wet surfaces as you mentioned.

Thank you for the knowledgeable advise;on my next opportunity,I'll do some comparative takes with different levels of polarizing to see how it works out.

i like very much this shot. Me too i had some doubt on balancing the polarizer effect in digital shot and  how correcting in post production. very good anyway.
