ivan colman 0 Posted January 13, 2013 just another well lit nicely captured nude girl. Number 9584000021114587555, I think. And barely none of them add some value to photography. Sorry.... Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted January 13, 2013 Ken, I would like you to know that I responded to the remark on you picture by Ivan Coleman as follows:Ivan, The first thing I read this morning is your comment to Ken Barrett regarding his photograph of a nude. It was snide, deprecating and implied mean malicious intent on your part. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you cannot behave like a gentleman, get the hell off of photo.net.Jerry MatchettKen, Your picture is well exposed, has nice flesh tones and is generally very interesting. Your model is clearly looking to one side and that always makes your viewer wonder what has her attention. Years ago I read an idea in an old book on composition. It suggested that when a model is looking to one side, that more space should be given to that eyes-to-margin distance. The author summed it up by saying "give the eyes room to look through." I look forward to your future contributions.Jerry Matchett Link to comment

starvy 7 Posted April 18, 2013 Ivan's comment is useless because it doesn't provide any reasoning behind why he found the image unremarkable. I comment on images that I like a lot. Once in a while, I would also comment on images that I feel are not very good when the photographer's other images are very strong. When I do this, I make a point of offering my reasons for disliking the image. Ivan did nothing and therefore, I wish he had not made it.You are working with a very attractive model and as such your lighting does much justice to her skintone. If I have a slight critique that would be on the compositional side. I wish you have left more room around the model. As a viewer, the post has that uniqueness of suggested movement. It is not easy to imply movement in still frame through a stationary pose but you have pulled it off well. So what I need as a viewer to enjoy it more would be more room to enjoy this movement, even though there is no physical movement. You do have a lovely portfolio with several outstanding images, but generally, the quality is very good to excellent across the borad. Keep up the good work. Link to comment
