I recall this day so vividly. There was full sun, it was so hot!!! Yet it

was a glorious day! 2009 was about the last year I saw any

abundance of Bumble Bees, and even then they were scarce

compared to the years before. I was very fortunate this one

afternoon. A few Bees were frantic as they landed on the large

Marigolds that were just bursting into bloom. I am very allergic to

Marigolds, and I obtained this capture between sneezes! I had a

harder time holding the camera still in 2009, but I was using my 18-

55 and it is much lighter than my 100mm Macro. It is a very mild,

FOGGY, night here in Southern Ontario. The Weather Network has

said we are going to get quite a bit of rain. Meanwhile, in the

Maritime Provinces, there is snow - AND - lots of it. Especially

Newfoundland. They are expecting up to 75mm of snow. The power

is out in much of the Province. All the more reason for me to enjoy

this memory of such a warm and sunny afternoon. (my sincere

thanks for any visits and comments, yours, Gail)

Hi Gail,  This is a wonderful image, love the colors, I am a big fan of Bumble Bees.  Nice that we have beautiful images like these to look at when the weather is cold and not so beautiful in the winter months, I look forward to spring when I can once again see images like this one.  Take care,  Sherry

I agree with you! While winter offers many beautiful photo ops as well, the garden colours are my fav. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!

I see we're moving along quite nicely now. Hopefully we're seeing the end of the winter doldrums on photonet, Very nice piece of work, Gail, catching the bee doing precisely what bees are supposed to do, The DOF is excellent and sets off our little hard-working friend beautifully.
