Where was this taken?! I've been trying to get a shot of this guy in the Philippines for the past 6 months, but he's so elusive (and FAST when in flight). Great shot; you're so lucky to have either gotten this close or to have such a great zoom!

This picture was taken near my house (Chennai). This bird is an occasional visitor, but not easy to find a pattern of visits. The distance would have been around 80 to 90 feet and there was a fence in between, so couldn't get any closer. Also no time to go around the fence, as the bird left almost immediately. sx50 of course has a great(est ?) zoom, equivalent of of 1200mm on 35mm format. I was able to get about 7 shots of this bird.

what a great bird this is!  i like the other shot better, though.  this one is very good, but the other one adds tremendous creativity, i think.  best, jamie
