I learned much from my early years of wedding photography. Some of which was quite painfull and embarrissing. In time you will learn too. From the angle you selected had you posed the groom to the left of the bride and at a approx. 45 angle, the viewer could then enjoy seeing the expressions on both the bride and the groom, and you could see the garter as well-VERY IMPORTANT!. Unfortunitly, this shot tells very little about what is taking place. Don't be timid about helping your clients-customers set up for a great shot. They will appreciate your professional input and you your bank balance will reflect your efforts.

Erich,

Thanks for taking the time to offer some advice from experience as a wedding photographer. I do appreciate it, however, I am not and do not intend to become a professional wedding photographer. I do this for fun. and for free. Verena and i are retired organic goat cheese producers- farmers-

This wedding was for friends. All my pics are candids, unposed, therefore, not "perfect' but, hopefully moment catching. The guy in the gray sweatshirt behind the couple was the "pro". You'll see, he could not have gotten the bride's expression, or the garter as well. Still, I think her expression is priceless. Other photos do include the garter and the groom. But it would be really pushing it to post all 900 of them  :)

Thanks again for offering your valuable advice.

Greg

A fun shot from a lovely occasion. Her smile is completely unfabricated and I quite like the other photographer lurking in the background. In a perfect world I would like to see more of the (bridegroom?)'s face, and if you were being really kind you might want to do away with the relection on her forehead - or at least reduce it. But a lovely capture of the moment. Well seen.
