Ice Carving - talk about fleeting glory. The world is truly full of strange and wonderful things and you are there to capture them and bring them to our attention.

Jack,  Boy, that was fast.  You are like a dog on a 'T' bone.  I posted this only minutes ago.  Another slice of life from Central Ontario in winter for you.  I expect some of the same from you on Japan.  Thanks for your visit & comment.  I do my best.   LM.

The crown looks better than the lion....the whole is bizzar as the crown is smaller then his face... but as it was doen of this matterial so part of him has already melted....;-)_anyway his  eye is still menacing!..

Always a highlight of the day to receive one of your visits & comments.  Thanks for this one.   True, warm weather is a foe to ice sculptures.  'Scary' is the look a photographer gets from onlookers while slowly circling the sculpture seeking an angle in which the changing highlights and dark areas best reveals it's features.  :-)  I've found that a dull, or at least an overcast, day results in superior images of these sculptures.  Bright sunshine produces too many specular highlights which are tough to deal with.  Best, LM.
