It is so dull and grey here, warming up a bit, so that means all we will

see on the roads and boulevards is brown, dirty sand that was

spread to make driving easier since we last had our good snow fall a

few days ago. The dirty snow should be gone in the next day or so,

but the Weather Man says we will have Sunshine. But it is that time

of year that the only colour outside is the cars driving on the roads,

and Christmas Decor that still remains. It is the time of year when

many who are able, ponder trips to warmer destinations where azure

seas and skys await. This is an original image, transformed many

times, duplicate layers and different blending modes used, and when

I arrived at these brilliant colours it was such a welcome sight. I just

learned today that a friend of many, Mike Palermiti is in Hospital ICU

with a serious Lung Infection. My thoughts and prayers are with him

and Betsy, and I am sure many would like to send a message

wishing him a 'Speedy Recovery'. He shares such colourful images

with us all, especially his ones of the Night Sky, accompanied by the

amazing details that explain just how he managed to capture such

beauty. (my sincere thanks for any visits and comments, truly

appreciated, Gail)

To be frank, I love the two light color ones.  The re-worked one is too complicated for me though it is great.  I feel it a little bit heavier.  I am just learning.  #6. Best Regards.

I always enjoy your creative efforts Gail!  The colors in this one are especially brilliant.  And I really appreciate your special note on Mike Palermiti.  I'm sure many people here on share your concern and best wishes for his speedy recovery.  You have so many "followers".  This is a good way to get the word out.

A great stain glass window!

Amazing how you work it from the simple pastel starting off images -  also praiseworthy by themselves

MAURIZIO, CHUCK AND WANGHAN

Many thanks each one for your input which I always find inspiring and so encouraging. *for Wanghan - these adjustments can be made even in Elements. They do take patience. I also liked the more pastel versions and may even post one. Kind regards, Gail

PHIL

Thankyou Phil for those encouraging words of critique Phil. I saw your image a few moments ago of the Iris, they are among my favorite flowers,so delicate. I also figured may would have noticed Mike's absence, especially those who love to visit and see what he has posted next. I thought as youhad suggested, an efficient way for any who enjoy his images to know how he is and a way to offer their concern. I will pass on your 'best wishes' to Betsy.

This picture brought me right back to my younger days when I was so fascinated by the ever-changing images produced by a kaleidoscope. I wonder if those things are still popular nowadays and if kids are as enchanted by the beautiful changing patterns as we were. I think the toys we played with back in those simpler, technologically primitive days, from tinker toys to pick up sticks to simple devices like the kaleidoscope, had a lot to do with our love of the creative which plays such an important role in our lives today.

Beautiful image Gail.  I love the vibrant colours – I wish my photos had some of these :)

And thanks for sharing a couple of the early steps that hint at how you might be creating your marvellous images.

All the best

Hi Jack

Actually there is still Kaleidescopes and an image I did a few months ago that was different but along the same lines had me searching the internet to see what exhisted today. I found a site that had custom wooden ones and they were truly beautiful works of art. I recall often getting them in treat bags at Birthday parties. I loved looking through them. My Dad actually gave my grandson Kael some of the wooden tinker toys awhile back and he loves them. He is 9,  and although he has a Nintendo DS, still likes the older toys. He also has a metal set, that I think is 'tinker' also. When the power goes out, and batteries can't be recharged, it is good to know they still enjoy Board Games and the simpler things. Many thanks for your visit!!!

striking colors and symmetry. WIPs are also as good as finished products.

My wishes for Mike Palermiti's speedy recovery.

Intense and colorful!   Like Wanghan I find the softer colors more relaxing.  Can't tell that by looking at my photos ;-)   Thanks for the word on Mike, will send a note.  I'm sending sunshine your way.... Aloha
