gungajim 75 Posted January 3, 2013 The Chinese have lingering resentment toward the Japanese as a result of the WWII invasion and earlier incursions. In recent months there has been an escalation in a long-simmering dispute between the two countries regarding ownership of some islands in the East China Sea. Chinese businessmen are using the dispute to make Japanese tourists feel unwelcome in their country. The irony of the situation is that millions of newly-affluent domestic Chinese tourists explore sites in their country with expensive Nikkon, Canon and Sony cameras hanging from their necks.
