I like both the perspective and the angle!   The light on the far hill and the textures of the clouds add a good distant focal point.

Very interesting scene and great point of view.  Would love to know more about the location and history of the site.  Would also be interested in seeing another version, this time with increased exposure on the salt pans themselves.  The light on the far hill is lovely but, for me, it distracts the eye away from main subject.
