Visiting Malta is entering deep into history.

Malta is a small group of islands in the Mediteranian .The the main one with its capital - Valetta, and the old capital Mdina. The second is smaller ,and is called Gozo .The 3ed is very small and its name is Comino.

The history and monuments as well as churches needs more than a  week or two to see  the whole. So here is a link just to get the impression.

Thanks for viewing

I only recognize the word "Alla"

I like this so much   The framing is great and the subject intriguing , and, I guess for those (like me) that are gentle -- it is gruesome

Thanks both of you, and my best wishes to you and your families at the new 2013.

Donna, it was photographed trough a car window in more rural area(if I well remeber...)and for me it represents the knghts story of the island, which  go's so deep into History.Thansk for writing your imressions.

Malta is indeed a very nice place to visit. I like the pictures that show little details that capture the atmosphere of the place and am looking forward for the continuation of the series. I visited Malta some years ago, fascinating place with over 4000 years of history and after all that, driving on the wrong side of the street :)

Regards, Tibi

Tibi, you are right, the island's history is fascinating, and for sure deserves another visit. The driving on the wrong side...was a problem..but at the end you are getting used to it( not by driving yourself of course..;-))

Jorg, the island is on constarction,I'm sure it will be handled at the end,,still a part of  beauty of the local history.

Happy new year for both of you!

Just a bizarre sculpture, almost like something you'd see on the front of a Mardi Gras float. Really a unique piece of work. I can't afford to travel so I'll have to ride along with you and share your adventures through your photographs, Pnina. I do envy you, though.

Sometimes it's the gentle spirits that have the most hutzpah.  The colors are quite nice.  The coppery red is almost like dried blood, which I suppose fits the theme.

Thanks, it is a very nice corner I  liked the figure that hints about the  knights history ( 1565 war with the Otman that wanted to conquer the island  and failed).
