stemked 4 Posted December 31, 2012 This is a straight shot, but cropped. Should I play with the setting to get more definition in the snow? Any other recommendations? Link to comment
gregoryl 0 Posted December 31, 2012 Hello DouglasA nice capture. The snow makes for a nice uncluttered background. As for the detail in the snow I guess there could be more, it depends on your preference. I find it rather blue. I know it's winter and the snow can look blueish but the brain will correct it when looking at a scene. I'm looking out the window now it's late afternoon and cloudy and the snow is much whiter looking than what it is here. I find the bird rather dark. You said it was just a straight shot from the camera. If it's a jpeg the camera has made the adjustments when it sent the image to the memory card depending on your settings made in the menu. I think the sharpness and colour are best done in pp from a RAW file. The other thing I noticed is some CA's along the top and left side of the bird from the high contrast edge between the feathers and the snow. I did some playing around with a screen capture to show what I mean. Maybe not to your taste, just my 2 cents.RegardsGreg Link to comment
stemked 4 Posted January 2, 2013 Hmm. I see what you mean. I'm not nearly as computer savvy as man of the users here, looks like I need to lean a lot more about these software packages. Link to comment
