oliver_indra 0 Posted August 9, 2003 The texture of the man´s face is just outstanding, you can read a hard life out of it. It´s a pity that you centered it so much. Very good use of light, you definitely have an eye for portrait shots, as one can see from your folder. Greetings, Link to comment
bruce_jones3 0 Posted August 10, 2003 I like this as it is for the most part. Can it be done differently? Absolutely. It could be lit better with just a little reflected light thrown into the right side of his face. The sharpness could be better too, but the graininess ads something to the rugged looking character in a way. That's why I like it, as more of an art piece than a portrait. Portraits should be clearer. This is not so I tend to think of it more in the art category as a character study. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted August 10, 2003 A bit too grainy, but what a great textured face. The face of a hard life? Good pose Link to comment
andrew_somerset1 0 Posted August 19, 2003 Nice catch. I would have moved the frame a bit to the left to have him looking into the frame and minimize the pale area on the right. Link to comment
gareth_harper 0 Posted January 4, 2004 I think what you have is a great portrait but with poor printing. I crudely messed around with it in photshop, though I do my b&w in the darkroom. With a little more work this could be a stunner. Link to comment

randy_samos 0 Posted March 17, 2004 Ehsan - I like this a lot. I'd love it if it were framed higher and to the left a bit. Other than that - great shot. Very interesting face. Link to comment
