billangel 9,671 Posted August 8, 2003 This alternate version of this woman's portrait evokes in my opinion a different mood and a different sense of the character of the subject. Compare this version to the original version Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted August 8, 2003 I have created two digitally altered versions of the same portrait, and was interested in how viewers might respond to each of the versions. Comparing the two, I think that there are interesting differences in terms of their "visual impact". Link to comment
sander_pronk 0 Posted August 8, 2003 I must say that in this version there is not much left to be seen of the interesting facial expression nor of the pose which make the other version interesting. This version seems to have no point of interest anymore. Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted August 11, 2003 It seems that my artistic intent was not being conveyed particularly well via the mechanism of the two separate images. I have therefore constructed an application, using the "xatshow" screensaver program, that will alternately display each of the images, with one image "dissolving" or fading into the other image. This program can be downloaded here: Link to comment
e_k5 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Bill, I can see where you are heading in terms of the imact you wish to have, but technically I think you overused the "contrast" task. Link to comment
johne37179 29 Posted August 5, 2011 Bill: I like the posterized presentation better. My mind is more involved with the more extreme shot and that is fun. This is certainly worth playing with. Link to comment
